How beautiful is the location? I can’t explain with words

This place has been around a while but it has received a bit of a refresh since it switched from Dougalls to the Whistling Duck and I have to say the food has improved. While it won't win any awards, it is reasonable fare although on the pricey side. I had the Whiskey BBQ burger which was fine although the burger itself was a little overdone. For my side I switched out the fries for a Cesar salad and thus was quite good. Unfortunately in Brighton, there isn't a lot of competition but at least this is one option that is 'ok' and the view is an added bonus.

Mussels in wine and garlic were tasty. Haddock and chips were crisp and not greasy. Peanut butter ice cream was good and the portion was huge - had to share it with table mates. On the expensive side. Great view.

A great spot rite on the water. The service was outstanding. And the food matched it. Fish & chips was great.

This is a great restaurant. Very comfortable with first class food and good size portions. The staff are excellent at what they do and very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone 👍

Nice patio, was a little cool so we had to come inside. I wasn't sure the waitress was very happy about that, and had to look for her for a refill of pop for my partner as she didn't come over right after our meals were served to check. She did come over though. She became much more amenable when I asked her who made the key lime pie and she told me that she did. That pie was spectacular! We even took another piece home with us. The wings were underdone - possibly because they were of all different sizes so the large ones were not cooked through. I didn't send them back...possibly because we didn't really want to bother the waitress - she wasn't overly friendly....until the convo about the pie! We would go back though, for the patio and that pie! Thanks for a nice evening.

Great summer spot for dinner and drinks by the water. Food selection was pretty diverse.

Really enjoyed it!The location is amazing. Definitely sit out on the deck overlooking the lake if it's open.Food was also good and service was excellent! Cocktails can be improved.

Staff is awesome and friendly. Food is delicious with lots of variety. The patio along waters edge is very relaxing.

Great setting and atmosphere here. Very extensive menu. Between all of us we had the cheese pizza and fries (2x), burger, escargots, veggie burger and lobster roll. They apologized for running out of veggie burgers but offered to replace with a Beyond Meat burger which begs the question, why isn't that on the menu? The lobster roll could've been served hotter and portions could have been bigger, however overall this was a pleasant experience - service was quick and very friendly - Bev was our server and was top notch. Would return for sure.

Location was good, sitting on the patio was a great spot. Selection of beers was okay, with all the local options available it would be nicer to see some of those than some of the bigger breweries. We had the portabello and goat cheese appetizer, wings and the special. App and wings were quite good, great recommendation on the part of the waitress. The special was a tequila lime chicken with mango for $25, (see picture). The portion size was small, and the chicken was dry. Flavour wise it was quite good, but didn't quite fully satisfy. Service was good, location and views were fantastic. Cost for what we received was a little high. I do think we'll return, but I'll be more conscious of what I choose.

Had a lovely lobster sandwich. The service was fast.

Our lobster sandwich was great. But the garden that came with it was tasteless and had rotten ones. The waitress knocked off the bun and the lettuce on the table but that was fine. Lobster tasted like it was mixed with something. I waited for the waitress to come for water but never came. I don't recommend the stir fry.I don't think I am personally offending anyone. This is my personal experience. Please don't take this personally. Also, please don't copy and paste your review comments. I understand it's hard to type for every bad review, but atleast make it somewhat unique.

I asked if the chicken breast was breaded in the dish I was interested in. It wasnt but they said they could bread it if I wanted it that way. The dish was amazing! Large portion and was served very quickly!

Since the new ownership, this place has been great to go to. Super friendly, helpful staff who are very attentive and good at their job. There were 4 in our party. We each had something different. Everything was yummy. Locally sourced meat in the burger, excellent for that and quality. Also local beer available. Good portion sizes and a lovely patio surrounded by the waters of Brighton Bay. Relaxing. Swans swim nearby. Website said no reservations on the patio but you can for inside. Definitely go back! Cheers!

The whistling duck was fantastic. We were sitting outside on the deck right by the lake. The food was to die for (as always) and the service was great. We will be going back in august. And of course the weather was perfect.

A wonderful place in Brighton on the bay. The patio was definitely worth sitting on during this warm summer evening! Nice to watch the people kayaking and the wildlife. Service was very efficient and friendly. Food was tasty. I had veggie burger and it was excellent.

Came to this restaurant with a party of 10 on the labor day long weekend and everything we ordered tasted fresh and delicious! The view was nice and the restaurant was clean! The service was stellar! I will definitely revisit this restaurant again when I'm in PEC/Brighton!

I really enjoyed my lunch here. The views are great. Staff are friendly and the food is amazing. Perfect sized portions.

My wife and I are always on the hunt for great food, great patios overlooking pristine waters and of course great service.Well today we found all of the above at this hidden gem!Sitting on the patio in the sunshine was so so peaceful with all servers hustling but time for a quick smile and water refills! My wife had a Sangria with red wine and it had many fresh fruits even with mint leafs. She needed a spoon for all that Fresh fruit. The burgers could only be described as “back yard” burgers taste made even more authentic with the patio having grass between some of the tables.Can’t wait to go back again and again

We have eaten here a few times over the years, under both owners. It is obvious that all the hard work the new owners, and the staff, have paid dividends. The service was friendly, and the food came surprisingly fast (faster than we expected), and the salmon was cooked to perfection. The fettuccine alfredo did seem to have white in it, or something a bit bitter, an odd choice to us. Everyone else's food was very good (we had a group of eight). As always, the view is mesmerizing. Keep up the good work everyone!

Perfect restaurant! Beautiful view near the lake. The food is great, I went there on Civic holiday, Nina took great care of us, she is very sweet she took our picture near the lake and was very funny and helpful which made our stop very pleasant.

Excellent food great service before the meal, although waiting to pay after the meal was a bit slow as the place filled up with people after we arrived. Won't hold that against them as it was really really busy.

I love this location. The service is always great and nice food choices. They accomodate any changes I want. Prices are fair. Big screen TVs in the bar area and nice lake views in the dinning area.

Spectacular water views! Lots of patio seating. Solid menu choices. Burger, Fish and Chips, Lobster and Fish sandwiches were all good.

Great location. Nice seating right on the water in brighton. Service was friendly. Food was good and reasonably priced but it could have been done a little better. Found some random dead lettuce in the bottom of my pickle spears bowl, and the chicken sandwich was kind of unwieldy as it was huge. Would go back for sure.

Fabulous location. Sat on the patio overlooking the water. The food was quite acceptable but the waitress was a little vacant. Don't expect too much in the drink department, the Marguerita was a neon green mix straight from a can.

Amazing food! I had a lobster club with fries and gravy. I would definitely recommend that. The service was beyond my expectations which just blew me away. The absolute only thing I would critique is adding more signage in the area since this is such a hidden gem. Highly recommended!

Best location in Brighton, with awesome food and service

Good food and a nice view. When visiting make sure to come early as the tables book up fast. The craft and local beer that they serve is a must and should not be missed. When going with a large group, make sure to call ahead so that you don’t have to wait long finding a table. There is parking in the rear and the restaurant has easy access to the patio.

Food was so delicious and well prepared. Service is excellent,staff is so polight and courteous and knowledgeable friendly. Perfect place to take your love one, or family.

Amazing place. The view is beautiful. Service is superb. If you're traveling anywhere on the 401 make sure to stop by. Way better than grabbing lunch at those rest stops. Very cozy atmosphere and tasty food

We had our anniversary dinner here last night. Didn't know anything about the restaurant, had never been in Brighton before. As a result we had zero expectations. We were pleasantly surprised, to say the least! The service was excellent and we really enjoyed our meal. Calamari were perfectly cooked, my wife joined her fish tacos, and my Chef's House pasta was incredibly good! Almost forgot the key line pie! Amazing!

We went to "The Duck" with my sisters and their families to celebrate a couple of birthdays. The servers were friendly, attentive and helpful. The food was excellent and reasonable priced. I had the blackened red snapper and was overjoyed with the flavour. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and flavourful. The 2 birthday people received complimentary birthday cake with candles. The view of Presqu'ile Bay from the restaurant was beautiful.
